Print Magazines are

For years, people have been saying that print is dead… yet I still see magazines new and old in my life. Many older publications are done… But new ones are sprouting up, and I see ads in all of them?

Do y’all think print is still strong? Or on its way out?

personally I love indie print mags! which ones are your favorite?

“Closer”, Jaime Owens’ new project, is rad! “2001.” is also very well done. My favorites are one-off photo zines. Zine releases are almost like the new video premieres!

Print is like a skateboard and digital is like a Lime scooter. They’re coexisting, maybe one is even becoming more mainstream, but everyone knows which one is cooler.

What a way with words! ahaha Skateboards are definitely cooler… but are Lime scooters ALWAYS more convenient? hmmmm

People who say print is dead either don’t read that much or haven’t really compared the experience of reading on a tiny phone to reading a book or magazine. Reading something physical is way better.

Of course holding a printed mag and flipping through tangible pages is the better experience. But what about a generation of people that never regularly experienced this??

A lot of the younger people I know are into old stuff, so I think the interest is there. I just hope corporations don’t kill off the medium for being less profitable.

We can only hope that decision makers listen to the youth

Print might not be what it used to be, but it’s definitely not dead. There’s something about flipping through a fresh magazine or holding a beautifully printed zine that digital just can’t replicate. And you’re right — the fact that ads are still running means brands see value in it. I think print is evolving, not disappearing. Niche publications, coffee table mags, and even food-related zines are thriving in their own lanes. It’s like comfort food — not always necessary, but always satisfying.
